RECO & RWASCO extends services in BUGESERA District - NYAMATA BRANCH

In a bid to improve service delivery, ELECTROGAZ the former company in charge of water and electricity was split in two companies which are RWASCO and RECO according to the law No 43-44/2008 of 09/09/2008 establishing RECO as Rwanda Electricity Corporation and RWASCO as Rwanda Water and Sanitation Corporation. In the same purpose of improving quality of services, the RECO & RWASCO utilities are managed in one institution replacing ELECTROGAZ.

On 28th July 2010, Reco & Rwasco inaugurated its new branch in Nyamata sector, Bugesera District.
The ceremony was attended by the President of board of
Directors Prof. Chrysologue Karangwa, Mayor of Bugesera District Louis Rwagaju
and others district leaders. Speaking at the occasion Prof. Karangwa congratulated the
Management and the staff of Reco & Rwasco for the new service center in
Nyamata sector which will improve customer services.
On 12th August 2010, the Management of Reco&Rwasco organized a workshop in Spots View Hotel to evaluate and review the 2010 targets in new connections in accordance to the current projects in place.  In his opening speech, the Managing Director of RECO&RWASCO Yves Muyange welcomed the achievements of the first semester. The Management of the electricity utility (RECO) wishes to inform its esteemed customers that the power disruption that occurred yesterday, Monday, 6th September 2010 at 7:40’ pm, was due to heavy rains and storms that affected Jabana and Gikondo power plants. This has also affected temporally electricity supply from the northern hydro power stations Ntaruka and Mukungwa. The emergency team of the electricity utility did their best to recover the situation. The Management of the electricity utility would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused by the unpredicted problem and thanks for its customers’ patience.
